German Cat Saves German Baby in Germany

My Cat Saved My Life
Phillip Schreibman

I don't know why I had to put all those Germans in my headline. I just wanted to, okay?
Top News Article | Reuters.co.uk: “The cat is a hero,” Cologne police spokesman Uwe Beier said. “Its loud meowing got the attention of the homeowner and saved the baby from suffering life-threatening hypothermia. The homeowner opened door to see why the cat was making so much noise and discovered the newborn.”
Apparently the baby already had mild hypothermia, so this isn't some trumped up meowing cat story. Beats the heck out of saving a cat from the walls of a building, too.

Wildrun Asks, You Answer // Why Spit?

Can you answer the question:
wildrun: You are a true cat person...: "Why would you spit on your hands before petting a cat?"
I have an answer that's not quite what wildrun was looking for, but my theory is untested.

What about y'all? Do you spit on your hands?

Or, you know, do you spit on anything else? I'd like to know before I come over for supper. When in Rome, you know.

I'm listening to “Baseball Theme” by Vince Guaraldi Trio from the album A Boy Named Charlie Brown on badgeitunes61x15lite.gif .

Greenwich Village Cat Finally Rescued After 14 Days

I'm sure as heck glad I didn't hear about this cat until it had already been rescued. I likely would have had nightmares.
NYC Cat Finally Rescued After 14 Days - AM New York: After 14 days trapped in the innards of a Greenwich Village building, Molly the cat finally emerged wearing a look on her face that said, "What's all the fuss about?"
Our cat once got trapped behind our walls, and we had to figure out how she got in before we could get her out. Turned out the crawl space had been open for a few minutes (maybe seconds) earlier in the day, and she walked all the way around the house (or over the house) to the opposite side. Then she was stuck. Calling. Some time around midnight.

Which is why, of course, I love cats.
