It is well known that we generally order from Amazon.com because they almost always send a cat bed along with whatever it is we order. And the cat beds they send are very often the perfect size for us. Lovely.

Protest in China closes cat meat restaurant - Slashfood: In the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, a group of approximately 40 demonstrators gathered to protest the sale of cat meat at the Fangji Cat Meatball restaurant.It's hard to believe that such a thing exists, I know, and easy to judge the people who might eat cat meat. But please also remember that there are plenty of people even here who would consider eating cattle, lamb, pork, etc. Don't get me wrong. I consider eating cats barbaric too. But if we begin a discussion without compassion, we hardly have a discussion. We have a shouting match. And that doesn't help anybody.

Este é o Arashi. Não, não adoptei um novo gatinho :) Este pequenote está cá em casa temporariamente, enquanto quem o tem para adopção foi para fora em trabalho. É um doce, vinha assustado mas já está mais à-vontade :)

ps- Arashi é o nome japones para tempestade. Este piratinha é cheio de energia, e já hoje se meteu num 31 - enfiou-se atras do meu armário da sala, demorámos séculos a conseguir tirá-lo de lá! :D
(Day 1) - Tino is quite an adventurous fella. Explored the house a whole lot faster than Latte used to. Here, he was playing with the carpet while I tried to get some work done. Not easy to stay away, as you can see. :-)
Tino's pedigree name came about on Day 2. He will be registered as Ishmael Valentino Nevoso. :D
Five cats on my bed and poor little Axle is buried alive under all of them! LOL

The show is the creation of a petfood company and will be shown on cable channel Animal Planet, as well as on the Web site MeowMixHouse.com where viewers will be asked to vote off one feline contestant each day.Of course, if you really want to help cats, you could donate some time to the local shelter, or spay a local feral cat, or give money to shelters in need. Or even adopt a cat of your own. That darn shelter is just overrun with kits, I'll bet. Go get 'em.

Most of the stories I've seen on this say exactly the same thing. All of them talking about the cat. And yeah, I could add to that cacophony, but it seems to me there is just as much of a story in this bear. I mean, what sort of bear... even a berry-eating suburban black bear like the one treed by Jack... actually gets treed by a tabby cat. It does not happen often - but here you see, all 4 cats within hissing distance. A dragonfly came into the house and disturbed the pease. Everyone ran from wall to wall and up the stairs trying their hardest to get the bug. In this pic it was hovering around the hallyway light ;-) And they were waiting impatiently for it to come to them.
